Tour description and activities
Day 1: Belgrade – Palić – Subotica (199 km)
We will start from Belgrade at 8am, picking up additional guests from the parking lot in front of Hotel Sajam in Novi Sad at 9.30. Arriving at Lake Palić we will go for a tour of this favorite excursion place of many people of Vojvodina. Free time for an independent lunch.
After this break we continue onwards to DiBonis Winery that combines local natural richness with modern technologies. Although the Palić wine region is most notable for its whites, the people of DiBonis pay equal attention to their red wines. Our wine tasting will be held in their rustic cellar where we will also be able to see their “Wine Safe” where the most valuable archive wines are kept.
Next we head for the center of Subotica, a city of unique architecture, nicknamed by some the Pannonian Barcelona since some of its Art Nouveau buildings share the inspiration with those of the great Gaudi. Check in at Hotel Galerija which is rightfully considered to have the best spa facilities in the whole of Serbia’s north. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Subotica – Kelebija – Bačka Topola – Belgrade (209 km)
After our breakfast we will go for a guided tour of Subotica’s downtown during which we will see its famed City Hall, fountains, City Museum, Theatre and Reichl Palace with its decoration made of Zsolnay ceramics.
We will then visit Kelebija and the biggest Lipizzan horse farm in Serbia. Apart from their stables, we will also see their museum with more than twenty carriages, fiacres and sleighs as well as a multitude of parade and work equipment for horses.
Afterwards we continue to Zvonko Bogdan Winery, located in a traditional wine growing area between Lake Palić and Lake Ludaš. From the very sight of the winery built in traditional style, but also in location of their vineyards and the top notch equipment, it is clear that they are dedicated to quality here. We will have a tour of their vineyards, winery halls as well as of their barrique cellar where we will taste three of their wines.
We continue our journey to Bačka Topola where we will visit the farm cum restaurant Capriolo. This former farmstead combines best of traditional and modern. Adjoining it is Brindza Winery which we will also pay a visit. Here we will sample some of their highly awarded wines while enjoying the winery’s lovely setting. Not a moment too early, we head back in order to reach Novi Sad and Belgrade in evening hours.
