Tour description:
Gathering of passengers on King Milan Square (at the monument) at 11 am (on request - a possibility of organized arrival of the minibus to the hotel where guests are accommodated. Gathering in the hotel reception.).
Transport by minibus to the Memorial Park Čegar. Visit of the battle site where is situated tower-monument erected on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Nis from the Turks in 1927.
Visit to Museum - a unique monument in the world and one of the most moving monuments of Serbian history, the wall which contains the human skulls of killed Serbs at the Battle of Čegar.
Return to the city center. Visit to the Monument to the Liberators on the Square of King Milan (Serbo-Turkish and World War I), which was built in 1937.
Nearby Park Hotel in the center, you will hear the story about one of the most dramatic episodes during the fascist occupation of Nis in World War II.
We’ll continue our tour to the site of the concentration camp "Red Cross" or "February 12th". Today here stands a memorial museum with an exhibition dedicated to the victims of fascists horrors. It is estimated that about 30,000 people passed through the camp, of whom 12,000 were killed at the site „Bubanj“.
Visit to the memorial park "Bubanj" where you can see "Three fists monument", which are actually large concrete sculptures. Each of the three fist is different in size and they are a symbol of male, female and children's hands that defy the enemy. On this very fascist were shooting entire families, a total of over 10,000 civilians.
