Tour description:

The tour departs from your preferred location in Belgrade at 7 am (address of your accommodation place recommended) and leads to Mokra Gora, at Southwestern Serbia.

Mokra Gora, is located on the northern slopes of mountain Zlatibor, a popular tourist attraction. Mokra Gora has become popular after a reconstruction of a narrow gauge railway called Sargan Eight which is unique in the world. Its route viewed from the sky, looks like the number 8 and it is running from the village of Mokra Gora to Šargan Vitasi station. You will experience the ride in this train while listening to interesting stories about this region and railroad's history. During the journey there are several breath-taking spots where we can make stop for short break and taking photos.

When approaching Mokra Gora, you will notice the outline of a traditional-looking village. This is the village of Drvengrad also known as Kustendorf or Mećavnik. Drvengrad was constructed by the Serbian film director Emir Kusturica as a set for his 2004. release “Life is a Miracle”. You will enjoy traditional ambience by walking through Drvengrad's streets. This village has its own library, named the Ivo Andrić Library, an artist gallery named Macola in honor of sculptor Dragan Jovićević, Stanley Kubrick Cinema for movie projections, gymnasium, sauna, sports hall, cake shop, as well as a souvenir shop.

On the way back to Belgrade, you will stop by the Drina river bank to make some great photos of the world famous house on the river. The house was built in 1968 by few young boys and it was local attraction until 2012, when the photo of the house was published in National Geographic as "Photo of the Day". Since this moment, The Drina River House has become one of the most famous spots in Serbia, which attracts thousands of curious travelers from all over the world.

The tour lasts 12 hours, so arrival to Belgrade is in the evening (drop off is at your preferred location in Belgrade).

In case that train ride is not available on booked date, an alternative will be provided.

Note: from November 11th until March 31st Sargan 8 railroad is closed for visits. Instead of train ride during this period you will visit Zlatibor mountain, one of the most popular leisure destinations in Serbia.
