Drive to Smederevo - the last medieval capital of Serbia from XIII century until his Ottoman Empire tumble. Visit Smederevo fortress - one of the largest on the Danube and among the most important in Serbia. It has been built in the 15th century on the confluence of the Jezava river with the Danube, during the reign of Despot Djuradj Brankovic, the most distinguished representatives of the Serbian ruling family
After visiting Smederevo Fortress, we will continue to The Golden Hill Villa, better known as The Royal Vineyards, a one-time summer residence of the Obrenovic royal dynasty. There is an incredible view of the Danube and half of Vojvodina. Obrenovic's summer house, most of all, was used by King Alexander and Queen Drage, as well as Natalija Obrenovic. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit every part of the villa.
After the visit, we head for Kostolac town where we will visit the archeological site of Viminacium, once an important Roman town, the capital of the province of Upper Moesia in the period from the I until the IV century A.D. Christ’s monogram from 2nd century was discovered in Viminacium archaeological site and represents the oldest proof of early Christianity in this region. In Viminacium there are Emperor Hostelian’s mausoleum, temples, thermal baths, the north gate of the Military camp, an aqueduct and recently discovered Roman Pantheon and Amphitheater. Apart from the ruins and ancient tombs, we will also see the skeletons of many mammoths found during the excavation.
Our journey continues to Srebrno Lake - people also call it Serbian sea because of its beauty. Free time for lunch in one of the local restaurants, a swim in the lake or just to relax and enjoy in wonderful nature.
Return to Belgrade in the evening hours.
